Kinja'd!!!

So I was flipping through the Book to kill a few minutes and saw this in my news feed. Obviously not real but I thought to myself, "Whoa! That looks pretty bad ass. Ferrari should do that every once in a while." Your thoughts?

Ferrari is sort of the bad boy/bully/douche of the f1 paddock and black fits that - I immediately get a whole The Intimidator vibe. **holds up 3 fingers in the air**

I think it'd be nifty.

Plus, they could make all of the gear they sell to tifosi in black, and every last one of those fuckers would rush replicate their current Ferrari-wardrobe-holdings in black. It'd be a HUGE financial boon!

I dislike Ferrari. They are the supervillain of racing. I don't know why, but they just fit the mold as a good team to hate. Or a hero team to the loyal Tifosi.

As such, any good supervillain or hero needs a uniform.

That uniform is a car painted in Rosso Corsa. No factory Scuderia Ferrari car should ever be anything except red.

Leave other colors to customer teams. That is the only acceptable way a Ferrari should not be red.

It would make there F1 car 100% less douche.

As I've always contended, Ferraris always look better in black.

I like it. I think it would also look good with the underparts in red, basically a switch from what they run now.

I think it looks neat, but Ferrari purist will howl endlessly at the sight of a Scuderia Ferrari that is not red.

When Montezemolo dies, they are going to paint it like that.

But tradition :-(. I prefer the era when teams used national colors and Ferrari still does

But but tradition. I think it would be more douchey. It would be like all those nba teams that have black jerseys now. They still use their traditional color and frankly they've already strayed too far from that by getting rid of all manuals and starting to make non NA engines. Enzo would roll in his grave with a black f1 car

He's long since and, besides, rolling may do him some good as I'm given to understand bed sores are a severe problem for the overly sedentary.

Yeah, but don't you appreciate that they're sticking to tradition somewhat? Most car companies and people in general have thrown tradition to the wind, but I love the fact that they stick with the red even if I don't root for them as an F1 team. We already have great looking black cars (Lotus, Sauber) and I want them to stick with red. It would make me just as sick as if Penn State started making uniforms like Oregon. I love that they still maintain at least some connection to their past.

I would tend to agree if I thought it had anything to do with an honest attempt to stick to the past but it's not — brand recognition and Phillip Morris dictate the color.

Even if they aren't doing it for the right reasons, I still prefer that they do it. If Mini started making their cars smaller again for business reasons I would still prefer it even though they weren't doing it for tradition
